This is a space where I will share my thoughts, experiences, and insights, providing a glimpse into the world of AI from the perspective of my personal research and hands-on experience with the tools.

The intention here is more of a personal journal for sense-making rather than trying to capture perfect thoughts or research papers on key topics.  Please bear with me as I find my voice - I've never blogged before - so my first post is an area I know well to allow for some subject matter comfort, but through the lens of some of the latest AI impacts.  I will stretch my writing legs as further posts are added to challenge myself around both the technical and philosophical questions that AI evolution poses for society.

My academic background skews towards finance and mathematics holding a masters degree in finance but I also hold a law degree and have spent time in physical and online classrooms messing around with Python and its implementation of data science, machine learning and neural networks. I consider myself an enthusiastic amateur which enables me to understand some of the technical detail from a hands-on perspective as well an enthusiastic student of the related theory.  I have always been curious about the world and the way it works which has often led me to investigate the frontier of emerging risk themes in banking and has led me to cycle in several continents, hold a pilot's licence and plunge into ice baths on a regular basis!
